Steve Lamb, Chairman of the Board
Lamb is a Managing Partner of Truecast Capital of Middleburg, Virginia, Standard Solar’s largest investor. Previously he was President and Chief Executive Officer of industrial equipment maker Dresser Inc., CEO of World Kitchen, Inc., a manufacturer of dinnerware and household goods, and President and Chief Operating Officer of Case Corp., a leading manufacturer of farm equipment.
Tony Clifford, Chief Executive Officer
Clifford began his solar career at Solarex Corporation, the world’s first manufacturer of terrestrial solar panels. That company was acquired by British Petroleum, and is now known as BP Solar, one of the world’s leading photovoltaic manufacturers. In his career Clifford has served as chief executive officer or chief financial officer in scaling up several high growth technology companies that were acquired by major corporations. He has returned to his professional roots to scale up Standard Solar. He is the author of a DOE Report entitled Tax-Advantaged Investments in Renewable Energy Projects; and he recently received a “Special Achievement Award for Technology Demonstration” from the U. S. Secretary of Energy. Clifford earned his MBA at the University of Virginia’s Darden School. His undergraduate degree is from Penn State University. Clifford also serves as the President of the Maryland, District of Columbia, Virginia Chapter of the Solar Energy Industries Association.
Scott Wiater, President
Wiater has an extensive background in executive management, operations, and supply chain management in startup companies as well as established corporations. Previous positions included Executive Vice President at Peak Technologies, a global systems integration company, and Director of Operations for Radio Frequency Identification at Motorola (Symbol Technologies). Wiater earned a Masters of Business Administration degree and a Bachelor of Science degree in Aeronautics from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.
Jim Pierobon, Vice President - Policy and Market Development
Pierobon has been helping launch and scale up several private-sector renewable energy and non-profit organizations including the American Council On Renewable Energy through his Pierobon & Partners network of marketing communications professionals. Previously he co-managed the energy and environmental practice at Ogilvy Public Relations Worldwide and helped build a specialized energy PR offering at Potomac Communications Group. He began his career as the lead economics and energy writer for the Houston Chronicle.
Kelly Tura, Vice President & Chief Financial Officer
Tura is a Certified Public Accountant who has served as a senior financial consultant to companies in the defense contracting market performing due diligence, start-up and restructuring activities. She has served as Director of Finance for the Federal Government Group at Unisys where she was responsible for all financial management aspects of the company including accounting, program finance, estimating and contracts. She has also served as Senior Finance Manager for Lockheed Martin Information Technology and Vice President-Finance at Affiliated Computer Services. Early in her career she worked at what is now PriceWaterhouseCoopers and Ernst & Young.
Neville Williams, Founder
Williams founded Standard Solar, Inc. in 2005. He created and trademarked the company’s name and tagline, Making Solar Standard™ for the U.S. marketplace after installing more than 85,000 solar-powered home lighting systems in India, Sri Lanka and Vietnam. He served as a free-lance correspondent during the Vietnam War, began promoting solar energy under President Carter at the newly created Department of Energy and directed national media activities for Greenpeace USA.
