University of Delaware will soon be home to 2,000 solar panels
Standard Solar, Inc. announced that it will install solar power at the University of Delaware. The array will be installed by Standard Solar and jointly developed, owned and operated with its joint venture partner Perpetual Energy Systems LLC, a financier of solar powered renewable energy systems.

Standard Solar Moves Offices
Standard Solar moved its main office from Gaithersburg to Rockville.
The solar electricity system developer and integrator signed a 17,500-square-foot lease at 1355 Piccard Drive, uprooting its offices from 202 Perry Parkway this week.

Residents of a Prince George's County neighborhood are tacking solar panels on the roof of a local church and expecting to reap more than $50,000 in the first year from the effort.
The University Park Community has created a limited liability company -- University Park Community Solar LLC -- for investment purposes and hired Standard Solar Inc. of Gaithersburg to blanket the Church of the Brethren's south-facing roof with solar panels.

Solar-Energy Panels Added to CUA Rooftops
Work on a campus solar-energy system began last week, when two cranes lifted 100 pallets of panels, ballast and racking to the roofs of Flather, Gibbons and Aquinas halls and the Raymond A. Dufour Athletic Center. After a break late last week to allow rain and wind from Hurricane Ida to pass, about 20 workmen are on rooftops this week installing solar panels and doing electrical work.

WASHINGTON, DC – Solar Energy Industries Association President and CEO Rhone Resch released the following statement this evening after the U.S. House of Representatives passed The American Clean Energy and Security Act (H.R. 2454) by a vote of 219 to 212:
"Today, the House passed the strongest measure in U.S. history to cut pollution while putting our economy back on track. Congress’ message was clear: It is time to diversify our energy resources and expand clean, pollution-free solar energy in the U.S."
