Renewing communities through renewable energy.
Renewable energy isn’t just good for the environment, it’s good for communities too. A catalyst for economic development, renewable energy initiatives have been shown to help rebuild underutilized resources in communities across the country. The growth of renewable energy also translates to an immense opportunity for new jobs in the energy, construction and manufacturing industries. These green jobs provide new opportunities for secure, well-paying employment, and also help communities transition from reliance on high polluting sources of energy to ones that use clean, abundant domestic energy resources.
For these reasons, economic development is a cornerstone of Standard Solar’s Utility Group. We work closely with client partners, state and local economic development authorities and other regional stakeholders to drive job creation and related economic activity.
The Standard Solar Certified Installer (SSCI) program, our integrated solution to spark regional economic activity, drives robust development and cost savings through the development of large-scale solar energy facilities. The program trains, certifies and supplies locally-based businesses with the practical knowledge and materials to construct solar energy facilities—and the opportunity to continue developing and installing them throughout their region. The program also rewards certified installers by providing access to competitively-priced engineering, incentive registration processing and ancillary financial services such as bonding and construction financing.
